Pioneer have announced that they will introduce an "electron beam" recorder as the next generation of data storage.
Right now, it's nothing but vapour, but hot and moist air from an (*ahem*) industry pioneer like Pioneer still has some value. It's interesting to know what lines they're thinking along, and even more amusing to read what the semi-educated armchair experts (see link) have to say about it.
