A crazy British company came up with the idea that the normal Mini cars don't have enough power, so they decided to make a new and superior Mini hybrid version called PML Mini QED. It can beat many normal cars on the acceleration scene going from 0 to 60mph in 4.5 seconds and on the top speed the number is 150mph. This kind of performance can be attributed to the four electric motors on each wheel + each motor having 160 horsepower. Comes with a small gasoline engine and is suppose to run for four hours.
Martin Boughtwood from PML, comments:
We simply took a standard BMW Mini One, discarded the engine, the disc brakes, the wheels, and the gearbox. These components were replaced by four of our electric wheels, a lithium polymer battery, a large ultra capacitor, a very small ICE with generator (so small it almost fits alongside the spare wheel), an energy management system and a sexy in-car display module
Simple, isn't it?
