Elecom Brings the Arcade to the Console and the PC
If you're old enough, looking at the image on the left is probably kicking up memories of blocky, 8-bit figures and old school MIDI music, and for good reason: the new Elecom GamePad for PS3 (and Windows, too) looks a great deal like one of the controllers from the Atari 2600. Curious about the functions of all of those buttons? It turns out they actually correspond to real PS3 functions - check out this graphic from Elecom's website. I can't see how this arrangement can be any more ergonomically friendly than the SIXAXIS, but then again, in the nostalgia market, emotions get involved and things quickly stop making "normal" sense. The Elecom gamepadlinks will retail for $56.40 when it comes to market in late June.
