DVD to iPod – Part 3
- Optional – Still in the Options tab, in ME Functions pick Exhaustive. This will increase the video quality in cost of a MUCH longer codification time. It's up to you.
After this, it's ready to go. Simply click Encode. The codification of the movie will run in a different program called ffmpegX Progress. After this program Pops up and the codification is in progress you can go back to ffmpegX and safely Quit, while ffmpegX Progress keeps doing his job.
3rd Step (iTunes 6) – When the process ends, (it will beep and a Finished window will show up) open iTunes and click on File -> Add to Library… and search for the file with the .mp4 extension that ffmpegX created. The default name is movie.mp4 and usually the file stays next to the VIDEO_TS folder.
After a while iTunes will copy the movie to the library (this process should take half a minute) and after that just go to the Videos division and the movie should be there.

To pass the movie to the iPod, just turn it on and iTunes should transfer the movie automatically.
