for the geek set: of course it would involve recording what you eat on your portable communications device of choice. The idea is an electronic adaptation of the older practice of recording what you eat when to keep track of how much (or how little) food you're taking in on a daily basis as a way to help change an unhealthy lifestyle, but that doesn't mean the software that's doing the recording can't be a little innovative. There are the obvious options, of course: Weight Watchers makes a product called On-the-Go where the user can find out point values for various foods (including specific offerings from companies like Starbucks). Verizon Wireless offers two different applications that lists nutritional information for hundreds of types of food. My favorite, though, is a new offering through Sprint called MyFoodPhone where you take pictures of what you're eating with a camera phone, upload it to an account and get feedback every two weeks from a nutritional advisor about what you're eating, how much you're eating and whether or not any of it is good for you.Via Los Angeles Times
