Luxury tech gadgets are very popular with the rich and famous. From gold-plated BlackBerrys to alligator-skin iPad cases and $3000 HDMI cables, these tech toys are out of reach for most people, yet still fun to look at. For example, an attention-grabbing Domenico Vacca alligator leather case designed specifically to protect your iPad comes with a hefty four-figure price tag of $3900.
For this price you'd at least expect it to prop up your iPad in landscape mode, which it doesn't, yet it's selection of 25 fashionable colors do gleam nicely in the sun. Then there is the 18 CT Solid Gold BlackBerry Touch, which you certainly would not want to hide in any kind of case. This model is custom made by Amosu, and the gilding only adds about 1.3 ounces to the phone's weight. The price tag is much heavier though, topping the list of expensive tech gadgets at over $30,000.
