Deinonychus Electric Bike by Yamaha
Filed in archive General Cool Stuff by tiago on October 8, 2005

Last week I talked about an electric bike - e-Solex - and I'll be talking about another one today. The Deinonychus (good name for a bike) by Yamaha is the first to provide two motors on each wheel, and also some good chassis
features.
Taking full advantage of the greater chassis design freedom afforded by an in-wheel motor, this is Yamaha's proposal of a completely new type of two-wheel-drive (2WD) EV (electric vehicle) with "Stretch & Shrink" functions in the vertical and horizontal directions that brings a very Yamaha joy of riding. In addition to the great drivability of the 2WD it is possible to adjust not only the riding position but also the silhouette of the chassis to fit the rider's body size, riding environment, road surface conditions and personal preference. - Press Release
It's a prototype only, but it sure looks good and would be nice to see it in action. It is also environment friendly, which is always good.
It will be displayed in the Tokyo Motor Show from October 22, to November 6, along with other Yamaha models.
