Curved LCD from AU Optronics
At the SID Expo this year, AU Optronics (AUO) unveiled the world's first curved LCD screen.
You might think that an invention like this would be highly impractical, but it actually opens the door for LCDs in places that are not flat, such as on digital watches or in-dash car displays. These curved displays can also be used as touchscreens, and they have strong color accuracy as well as brightness in sunlight.
AUO plans to mass produce the 4.3 inch version of this screen before the end of June.
