Creative Zen Krystal Gets a Workout
I am not sure how many iPods there are out there, but I think for every iPod, there is an iPod hater. For those haters in the audience, especially the athletic ones, you know have an alternative to the iPod + Nike system that has been popular with athletes. The Zen krystal, by Creative, is looking to fill that spot in your healthy, jogging heart.
The 4GB Zen Krystal media player has a built-in pedometer, keeps track of speeds and distance, includes a few games, an FM tuner, and a voice controller. The user interface and player styling are also very sharp and clean thanks to its blue OLED screen.
The iPod + Nike system has been very popular with athletes, but I wonder if there is enough room in this niche market for the Zen Krystal. If so, Creative has a good thing with this media player, if not, then they will probably lose this foot race with Apple. No word yet on price, but you can view the product information here.
