Connect Me Mobile: Communications Alternative?

PBX systems strike me as a little outdated in these days of the text-based mobile office, but ConnectMe Mobile has an interesting idea: set up a PBX system with a few neat features and rent out space to small businesses that need mobile connectivity via voice – I'd guess sales people, for example. The service starts at $5.00 per user, works with any windows mobile smartphone and includes features like audio mail, personal fax, secure document sharing and 256-bit encryption to keep out corporate spies.
Thanks to Shawn over at BootStrapMe for the tip.

Hi Eric, glad ConnectMe Mobile caught your attention. As a member of their PR team I just wanted to clarify their service. The ConnectMe Mobile service transforms a smartphone into a fully-featured PBX phone, but also adds document management and collaboration tools to the mix. A sample of some of the features include “visual voicemail” which lets you see a voicemail inbox that looks like your email inbox so you can skip directly to the most important message; the ability to put calls into a queue so your colleagues can answer your phone in case you’re unable; instant access to documents that can be shared on both smartphone and PC platforms. Thanks for blogging about ConnectMe Mobile!
