My AV gear in my lounge is made up of a Sony TV, Sony Stereo (bought at separate times), a Philips DVD player and a Technics turntable. At times, I add an IBM thinkpad with a wireless connection to it. Not only that, but they were bought over a period of about 6 years.

It's an interesting idea, but I don't think it will impact on most of us.
