Composting Porta Potty

I bet you didn't realize exactly how much water your toilet uses. In Israel, conventional toilets use 40% of the available water. Considering Israel is in the middle of a desert and they don't exactly have a lot of water to begin with!
Meitivei (in Hebrew) has come up with a greener solution to the problem: a Composting toilet! Offered for both in-house and porta-potty use, it uses all-natural materials in order to "process" the waste. In the porta-potty version, unprocessed sawdust is used to bury the waste and it's scent, leaving only a "moist forest" smell. Hopefully, that smells better than the porta-potty's I've been in.

Sawdust can generate enough heat to self-ignite. Would give a new meaning to the phrase “Come-On-Ice Cream”.
I was on several fires at a lumber company that covered over sawdust after the state said they couldn’t burn it any more. Gophers and snakes would burrow right to the pile giving it an ample source of air to ignite.

I would hope they use some other stuff than sawdust, then. But I do have to give them credit for trying something different.

I’m not a fan of the sawdust compost…you should check the units that convert waste to ash.

As long as the stench is bearable- I’m all for it!
