Cell Phone

Wouldn't it be great if you could make the check-in process easier at the airport just by using your cellphone? Well, that is possible nowadays but only in certain locations like Japan and Germany, more specifically there are two Japanee carriers (Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways) and one German (DBA) using the cellphone process so you don't have to wait in line to check the luggage.

Currently this system is only used in National flights in which one don't need to show any I.D., and there is no plans in the future to use it internationally, just imagine the security problems that might happen...

Graham Titterington, an analyst in London with a special touch for security systems, comments:

The authentication capabilities of a mobile phone are strong enough and hard to spoof because the phone number is coded onto the SIM card. The real question is whether the phone is stolen, as they often are, but paper documents can be stolen as well. A Thief who stole a phone would have to match the identity of the legitimate owner of the phone with a plane ticket.
