Casio Unveil Next Generation Camera With 60FPS Images

The latest news from Casio points to what looks like the next generation of digital cameras. Packing 60 FPS still shooting and 300 FPS VGA quality video this really does look like it might make waves with those that take their digital photography seriously.

Over at CrunchGear Nicholas Deleon ponders whether this could be somewhat of a breakthrough for Casio:

"It's also good to note that the camera will have that new-fangled CMOS censor and not a CCD like cameras past.

Should Casio deliver on these fairly impressive specs-I don't even know what 300 f.p.s. looks like-I may have to change my tune as it relates to Casio's dSLRs. Come to think of it, I've never seen a Casio dSLR being used. I've always thought of Casio as the maker of decent point-and-shoots. Maybe this one will change that perception."

Until now Casio has not really been associated with pro-am and heavy-hitter camera models. This could be the one that makes all the difference for the brand's credibility with early adopters and the lucrative pro-am market.

There's still a while to wait, yet, however, as the camera won't be released until next year. Stay tuned for updates.
