Being an adult and a pretend professional, I rarely find myself getting excited about a video game. In fact, it would probably be odd for me to get too giggly about a console game, but darn it if the Beatles Rock Band game doesn't have me a bit fired up. Good news if you find yourself in my shoes, there is an official release date; 09-09-09 is the day for you to get your Beatles Rock On.

Beatles Rock Band is a joint release between Electronic Arts, MTV Games, and Harmonix, and will be simultanously release on the XBox 360, PS3, and Nintendo Wii. There is a fantastic limited edition premium bundle that will feature the game itself, a Hofner Bass Controller, Beatles and Ludwig branded rock drums (complete with the Beatles kick drum head), a microphone, and a microphone stand. If you preorder the bundle for $249 (US) or $199 (Euro), you will also release special limited release content and be included on pre-release information and media.

There is something universal and joyfully nostalgic about the music of The Beatles, and I can think of no better way to enjoy the tunes than by pretending I am talented and skilled enough to rock out with them on my PS3. Color me preordered as soon as I get done writing this post!
