How would you like it if next time you told someone to give you a bit to recharge your laptop it only took 3 seconds? Researchers at MIT have devised a battery that recharges itself in just a few seconds and may never need to be replaced. The new design covers the internal electrode portion of the battery with nanotubes to increase the surface area, enabling the battery capacitor to store more energy. During testing the battery could be recharged frequently and in just a few seconds. This type of battery could revolutionize the geek way of life. laptops that charge in a few seconds, MP3 players that can go on and on and on. No word on when or if the batteries will make it to actual production.
