Audex Jacket Series from Burton now with Bluetooth
Audio and External are the two words responsible for the Audex series, and the Audex Jacket is just the first in a line of products of this kind. Burton and Motorla developed this jacket for the snowboarders using bluetooth technology, that is available to the public since yesterday.
"At a touch of a button" you can:
- Listen and control (play/pause/stop/volume) the music coming from your iPod, yes there's a "hidden" pocket in the jacket for your favorite player. The wires will go inside the jacket and won't cause you a problem, so no worries with that.
- Receive/end/mute a call while riding your board
For easy accessibility there's a panel like the one at this page located on the left-hand sleeve. "Speakers and a microphone are located in the hood for taking and making calls as well as listening to music."
Compatible with:
- Any brand of Bluetooth 1.1 or 1.2-enabled mobile phone that supports "headset" or "hands-free" Bluetooth profiles
- Any Generation 3 or newer iPod with Docking Station (Excluding iPod Shuffle)
"Music and technology are a huge part of the snowboard culture," says Bryan Johnston, Burton's VP of Global Marketing. "The Audex line makes it easier than ever to listen to music and pick up calls whether you're riding up the lift or grabbing a taxi downtown."
I can't imagine the number of weird looks people would make if I ever used this on the street. Other than that it's pretty good and very useful, the price is #$&$#% expensive, but maybe it's worth it if you're a hardcore snowboarder or just a rich person searching for ways to spend your money.

When I first saw the photo of these jackets I thought how warm they look, which is just what you want this time of year, but then I see they have many other features including some nice tech which makes them much better as I love gadgets.
