AT&T To Enter Gadget Market

There's no denying the fact that wireless technology has paved the way for many previously unimaginable innovations. AT&T realizes this and has confirmed development of a whole plethora of gadgets that will capitalize on this reality.

Among the notables is a wireless dog collar made by Apisphere which can send text messages or emails directly to the owner should the wearer happen to stray outside a certain area. The device also has continuous tracking so owners can locate their lost pet from a computer.

Other interesting bits include a pillbox that wirelessly reminds its owner to take their medication, a device that keeps track of product pallets for shipping companies and a wireless entertainment system for car passengers.

AT&T expects these new gadgets, which will run on its data network, to bring in roughly $1 billion in annual services revenue over the span of the next five years.
