Apple TV Comes Out, Gets Hacked
Apple's newest gadget, Apple TV, allows you to wireless sync files between your computer and your TV using iTunes, so you can watch the movies you've just downloaded (for example) on a big screen. It's a cool idea and is one step closer to the linkup between computers and televisions. But as it turns out, along with those video capabilities comes an operating system that hackers can exploit for their modification purposes. Apple TV Hacks, for example, has a tutorial that shows you how, with a modified Finder file, you can install the Apple TV OS on your Macbook. AwkwardTV has a video showing you how to boot an external hard drive using Apple TV, so you can install more advanced hacks like SSH without cracking the Apple TV case. I'm not sure why you'd want to do any of this stuff, but if you've got the will, there's definitely a way.
