Apparently it's not all Fun and Games

You remember those U3 drives I've been getting so excited about over the past few months? Apparently in the wrong hands they're a IT person's worst nightmare, because they're tiny computers that turn themselves on as soon as they plug into a computer. Obviously, the owner of the drive has to be acting with malicious intent, but as this article from ComputerWorld points out, that doesn't make things any easier for large corporations or companies in regulated industries – a smart hacker can alter the U3 code, load up trojan, plug it into a computer (or trick someone else into doing it by "losing" the drive in the parking lot for someone else to pick up) and make off with all kinds of information. At the moment, solutions to this problem rest with individual network administrators, but I wonder if the U3 consortium might implement their own fixes for this issue.
