For the purposes of full disclosure, I own an iPhone and it is jailbroken. I cannot imagine my iPhone without IntelliScreen. The jailbreak scene, thanks to Cydia and the work of all of the fantastic development teams, is fantastic. But none of it compares to what is on the horizon on for the iPhone scene. Developers have successfully booted linux on an iPhone. While this might not seem like a big deal, it represents a major leap forward in what the iPhone hardware is capable of. The iPhone hardware is amazing - that much is undeniable. Having a choice of operating systems on the iPhone would let the potential of the hardware be fulfilled.
