23rd October is the date the Windows 7 will be available.Way back in writing school, I learned that starting off with a quote is a great way to grab attention, and I cannot think of any better quote for Microsoft Windows lovers that that one. Bobby Watkins, the loose lipped leader of Acer UK has spilled the beans on what Redmond has planned. That would mean that in just a few months, Windows Vista computers everywhere will be running just a bit snappier and smoother.
I have been running Windows 7, Release Candidate 7100 for about a week now on my HP TouchSmart TX2. It works fantastic. I have a small list of software that is a bit clunky under the new OS, but that will change soon. I am excited to have an official date on the horizon. October is just a few months away, and that means that driver compatibility and software updates will be rolling out quickly. All I know is that the TX2 loves Windows 7 and I do too.
Of course, Microsoft has made no official announcements, and there has been no real information regarding pricing and availability. Now that the street date has leaked, I can only assume that all of those pesky details will be leaking out sooner than later.
