Three new Pentax cameras announced - releases in detail from DPReview.
The S30 is a 3 megapixel camera that slots into the "affordable" end of the range. While aimed at the newcomer to digital photography, it still boasts a 3x optical zoom. Optio 30The S40 is the next step up - 11mb of flash built in, as well as a slot for SDE/MMC cards. 4.0 effective megapixels, and the 1.6" LCD monitor offers a 100% field of view. A well placed "next step up" from the S30. Optio S40The S4i is specified quite similarly to the S40 - but it's a bit more compact, and has a 1.8 inch LCD (which also offers a 100% FOV). Same zoom (3x optical + 4x digital), all in an ultra-compact frame. Optio S4i
