A minipartner for your Mac mini
It never ceases to amaze me how quickly some companies can bring products to market - it seems like only a few short weeks after the Mac Mini was announced, there was a range of third party peripherals targeted at it. We're a few months on from that now, and Engadget has yet another - the minipartner from MacWay.
designed
to sit under or on top of your Mac Mini, this device adds 400(!!) gig of additional storage, along with 4 USB2.0 ports and 2 firewire ports.
You know, although this is designed for the mini, I imagine it would work well for laptop owners as well - a chunk of storage for your desktop, and you can leave all those peripherals plugged in all the time - then, when you get back to the desk, just plug in a couple of cables, and everything is right there, ready to go. That's gotta be better than my current method of plugging in a 4 port firewire hub (that in turn has an external hard drive attached) and a 7 port USB 2.0 hub, and probably a hell of a lot tidier too.
