Christmas Gifts
by Jason Giacchino on November 20, 2009

Well it may not technically be a gadget, it is a book about how gadgets have changed the world we live in. Larry Page and Sergey Brin founded Google in a Silicon Valley garage 11 years ago with ambitions of changing the world.
Did they succeed? In the opinion of the author, absolutely only that isn’t exactly cause for celebration. Googled: The End of the World As We Know It by Ken Auletta covers a lot of Google's intensifying battles with the media, privacy watchdogs and antitrust regulators worried about the company's ever-expanding power.
As interesting as fearing the company is, we seem to recall several of the same arguments being made about Microsoft a few years ago. Bill Gates became heavily involved in charity and the hoopla seemed to quiet down. Perhaps Larry Page and Sergey Brin need to follow in Bill’s footsteps.
It does make a great gift for the tech junkie on your list though and goes for $16.34 at Amazon.
