In Japan KDDI and Okinawa Cellular are launching a new service that allows subscribers to use 3D GPS navigation services on their cell phones. The service is called EZ Navi Walk and uses a voice to guide the user to their destination. Images on the cell phone screen are rendered in 3D. The makers claim that by using 3D images, it makes navigation easier, especially so at complex intersections as building and land marks are easier to recognize. Sounds cool, wish we could have it here in the US.
