The New York Times has an interesting twist on the standard end-of-the-year-best-of-list formula: 20 gadget innovative ideas that made it past the design boards and lawyers and into the wide world of gadget loving in 2006, including the wireless technology built into the microsoft zune (pictured). Although the last gadget is a little lame (read the article and you'll see what I mean), there are some great bits in this piece that will get you thinking about the gadget future - or maybe just drooling about what's out there already. Of the gadgets discussed, I think my favorite might be the Wii - something about the concept of getting a workout (especially in this health-conscious age) while playing a video game sounds like a fantastic idea.
